How weighted grades work
A weighted grade multiplies each assignment's score by its weight (importance) and divides by the total weight. For example, if homework is 20% and exams are 80% of your grade, a 70% on exams matters much more than a 100% on homework.
Weights don't have to add up to 100% — the calculator normalises them automatically, so you can enter relative weights (e.g. 1, 2, 3) or percentages (20%, 30%, 50%).
